My Greyhound Girls

Greyhound, ears, brown eyes, Cornwall

Locally I am known as "The Greyhound Lady".  At different times over the years, the three beauties above  have shared life in Cornwall with myself and my partner.   We have tried to give them all the retirement away from their racing life that all greyhounds deserve.  Living and walking with them and watching them settle into a quiet retirement has been one of the greatest things for us to be involved in since being in Cornwall.

We have always dreamed of owning a dog but up until we moved here, my boyfriend and I were living near Bristol and working 9-5 so our lifestyle was not really conducive to dog owning.  At the time, we holidayed a lot down on the Lizard here in Cornwall and both of us dreamt of living down here.  We were very fortunate in that we were able to do this sooner than expected.  I immediately investigated owning a greyhound by contacting Russet Greyhound Sanctuary and arranging a meeting.

Here in Cornwall we are so lucky to have such beautiful places to walk and drive to, within easy reach.  We are surrounded by hidden coves, long beaches and rocky cliffs that inspire and bring out artistic influences. With picturesque  villages like St Keverne, Helford and Cadgwith nestling alongside these.  Cornwall is full of hidden gems.  Many happy days are spent exploring or just looking at the scenery!
